Learning Intention:

I will learn how to import a gif animation into Adobe Flash

I will learn how to import audio into Flash and sync it with an event

 Adding Sound Effects.

These are two pivot animations I downloaded from the official pivot site. I added the sound effects in Flash.

Steps to add audio to a pivot animation.

I did this following by the following steps.

  1. Exporting a pivot animation as an animated gif
  2. Importing the gif animation into Flash
  3. Creating a Keyframe where a sound could start
  4. Importing a sound into Flash
  5. Adding that sound to the stage where the Keyframe is

Exporting a pivot animation as an animated gif

Copy the week 2 folder in the Year 9 Multimedia folder  in the student share drive.

Paste the folder into your drive

Open the Pivot Source files folder.

Select and open kick.piv

Go to file and save as animated gif.

Save as kick.gif

Importing the gif animation into Flash

Open Flash

All Programs > Adobe Master Collect > Flash Professional

Select Import / Import to stage

Find kick.gif and import the file

Notice that the gif animation is added to the timeline in Flash.

Drag the play head back and forth to see how the animation works.

Save the movie as Kick.fla  File > Save

Creating a Keyframe where a sound could start

Create a new layer to the timeline and label it kick audio.

Now drag the play head to where the foot hits the wall.

Select that frame in kick audio layer

Go Insert > Timeline > Keyframe

You have just added a keyframe where the audio will start

Save the movie

Importing a sound into Flash

Now we need the kick sound to the movie

File > Import > Import to Library and select bang6.wav from the sound effects folder

Open the Library window in Flash

Notice that the sound file is in the library with a speaker symbol next to it

Select the keyframe where the sound should go and drag the file from the library onto the stage.

The sound file will now play when the foot hits the wall

Play the movie using the Play button to test it.

Save the movie.

Create you own animation with sound.

Add sound to one of the Flash movies in the folder (not teacher examples)

or

Export your own pivot movie and add your own sounds.
